I’ll be honest, Christmas has never been my favourite time of year as I love the light and sunshine too much. However now that we are living here I’m a little bit excited!
Today, along with many households, we decorated the house and put up the Christmas tree. We usually buy a real tree but this year we bought a fake tree in the sale at a local department store. It is beautiful and I like the thought of have no dropped pine needles all over the house! We also bought some new garlands for the hearth and for the stairs.
I love the “Victorian Christmas” look with lots of red and gold. I also think this look will look fabulous in my new house although I don’t want to recreate Christmas in 1880. So I have added a little fun to the decor this year with some new touches. I’m really pleased with how the sitting room hearth looks in particular.
Happy holidays everyone.
OH THE JOYS OF LIVING IN AN OLD HOUSE IN THE SHIRES.
