I’ve come to a decision and I’m excited to share it with you! It’s time for me to embrace why I started this blog in the first place. It’s time to embrace my blogging niche.
My love of blogging
I love blogging and, up until now, I’ve been enjoying sharing different types of posts with you. I have written about my experiences as a mum of teenagers, my life as a teacher and renovation posts about the Old House and Garden. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know other bloggers out there. There are some amazing bloggers such as Jo over at Motherofteenagers, Annette over at 3 little buttons, Heather over at Shank You Very Much and Liz over at Its a drama. Bloggers are a really friendly bunch and I love being part of that and I hope that won’t change.
Continuing what I started
Working full time since September has meant that blogging has taken a back seat. I’m still posting each week but it’s been tough to accept any blogging work as teaching is so full on. To be honest, I was getting fed up with having to blog which defeats the object of why I began in the first place! It got me thinking and I came to an obvious decision. I’ve decided to only blog about the Old House and it’s garden. My educational and parenting posts are no more folks. I know that many of you have enjoyed those posts and I thank you for supporting me by reading them. I hope you’ll hang around whilst I continue to blog about my Old house in the Shires (Wiltshire).
When I analysed it, it wasn’t a tough decision at all as that is what the purpose of Oldhouseintheshires was in the first place. I’ve had all the posts I’ve written up until now made into a blogging book so that I can keep the posts that I’ve written. I’m quite proud of some of them! All of the gardening and home posts have stayed but all the parenting and educational posts have gone.
I’ve found my niche!
I am now a Home and Garden blogger. That’s awesome! THAT is my niche and I’m excited to see where Oldhouseintheshires will go next. So, if you love old houses, garden tips or renovation type posts, this is the place for you. The door to the Old House is still open; I’m just hoping to show you more of what’s inside.
Happy reading and I hope that you continue to enjoy my posts. There’s much to look forward to in 2019! The #MyGloriousGardens Linky hosted by myself and the lovely Ann will be back in the Spring 2019 and there may even be some prizes to tempt you all back!
A blog about the renovation of our old house and it’s garden in the English countryside. I also blog about interiors, general gardening tips and visits to glorious gardens.
