Here we are and it’s the 1st If August already! It’s time for another renovation post. This month has flown by and lots has been happening with the Old House renovations. It feels like we are in the final push now. Come in and take a look!
The glazing company came from Preston and we’re with us for almost 3 weeks. They worked really hard and we were amazed at how much work was involved putting in the windows and doors! We are just waiting on the back door now and an internal window that are being made separately.
The Limestone floor has been laid and it looks amazing! We have chosen a limestone floor from Mandarin Stone.
The electrician has added spot lights and put in all the sockets. We have chosen brass sockets in the kitchen and these amazing brass bistro lights which I love. They were from Comet lighting. I knew I needed quite large light fittings for this space so bought three bistro lights. I haven’t yet chosen any lighting for the dining room. You can also see that our range cooker has also arrived. The whole space has been painted in Dulux ‘Timeless’ until I can decide on a colour.
The patio is almost done and looks absolutely amazing. I was always worried it was too big but our lovely builders said that it would be perfect and it is! I love everything about it. I love the patio slabs and the fact that they match the slate roof, I love the steps to the lawn, I love the Bath Stone retaining wall and I love the way the table looks like it was bought for this space!
Jobs to do next
We are nearly finished this part of the renovation and we are just waiting on the kitchen now. This was delayed by a few weeks as I changed my mind on some of the details. We hope it will be in by the time I go back to school at the beginning of September. In the meantime, there are a few jobs that will be completed in August. The roofer is coming back to fit the black drainpipes and guttering. The carpenter is coming to fit the new internal window, the skirting boards, the back door and internal doors. The well needs to be cleaned and we are waiting for the company to get back to us to do this specialist job. All of these jobs should be done in the next month though and then I’m looking forward to being able to use my new Kitchen! Then we can rip out the old kitchen and change that space into a study!
I’m hoping my next renovation post will be the kitchen reveal!
